GFR CUSTOM CABINETS
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1.) What are the differences between true custom cabinets and lower-end cabinets?
Answer: The difference between the two has a lot to do with the materials used, and the labor/skill factor that is used to fabricate and install the specific cabinet.
For custom cabinets a lot more care goes into the handling and finishing of the product where in lower end cabinets you might not know it but your cabinets probably were not built with the same precision. Custom cabinets normally involve a true plywood box and stay away from particle boards and melamines. The finishes are not manufactured but custom sprayed to suit. Custom Cabinet doors are typically true hardwood construction and/or MDF for paint grade. Custom Cabinet Doors typically stay away from Deco-door material, and/or thermafoil.
Lower end cabinets would be more likely to be Pre-fabricated but semi-professionally installed. The longevity, durability, and quality are usually at great risk and are compromised when dealing with weaker materials such as particle board. Most pre fabricated boxes are constructed with Pegs and Glue which does not make for a sturdy box in the long run.
